Cuba Publications in the Science Citation Index Expanded: publication characteristics, institutions and journals

Introduction: In contrast with other tropical countries, Cuba has been frequently studied from the point of views scientometrics. It reported that Cuban researchers often failed to cite or collaborate them, and 78 % scientifc output is published in journals mostly missed by Scopus Web Science. Objective: this article, we analyze article characteristics (subject, language, authorship), institutions appear Science Citation Index Expanded, as well citations Core Collection. Methods: We analyzed publications Cuba, dated 1900 2019, reached index. Results: retrieved a total 23576 publications, articles. database, English dominant and, over time, articles have become longer increased number authors references.
